Living a Conscious life - Discovering our Life Purpose

When we become more conscious of our life and where it is leading us, the practical question of, 'What's the purpose of my life?' often arises. The wisdom of the ages suggests that to, 'know thyself' is a good beginning. But how does that self knowledge manifest in our daily life? This personal and practical manifestation of our talents, experiences, and passion is our Life Purpose. Everyone has a Life Purpose. It is not created, because it has always been a part of us, although often not consciously recognised. The challenge is to do the internal 'detective work' to discover what it is.

You say I started out with practically nothing, but that isn’t correct. We all start with all there is, it’s how we use it that makes things possible.
— Henry Ford

As we become conscious of our unique Life Purpose, we are drawn to the power,  congruence, and sheer joy that comes from living true to this purpose.  Paradoxically, our real Life Purpose will always benefit others... almost as much as ourselves. That's why Life Purpose easily translates into Leadership Purpose.

In the lives of many people it is possible to find a unifying purpose that justifies the things they do day in, day out - a goal upon which all lesser goals depend. Without such a purpose, even the best-ordered consciousness lacks meaning.

People will often ask me, 'which path should I follow?'. I believe the more conscious we become, the more we can trust our hearts to provide good guidance.  I also find this quote is helpful in making that decision:

"Look at every path closely and deliberately . Then ask yourself one question: Does this path have a heart?  If it does, the path is good; if it doesn't, it is of no use.  Both paths lead nowhere; but one has a heart, the other doesn't.  One makes for a joyful journey;  the other will make you curse your life.  One makes you strong; the other weakens you."
